Just wanted to let you know that I posted my 2021 favorites on my Read More

I should be arriving in my hometown around this time... I was gonna surprise my parents for Christmas - they knew I was coming, but I told them I would be arriving next Thursday.

Unfortunately, something sad happened. On Wednesday, a couple of hours before departing to the airport, we got our covid test results back. We were so frustrated with the delay of our PCR - but happy to find a mobile site to get a rapid test with no lines. We were walking home celebrating how fast it was and planning to take a nap before departing to the airport.

When we arrived home, we got the results. I tested negative. But my husband tested positive. We were shocked, then we got frustrated - I cried a lot - and finally, we accepted the fact that we had to reschedule our trip. Later, we got the PCR and his was positive as well...

Thiago is super fine, he has only a sore throat. He doesn't even look sick lol. I'm fine too. Sad to spend Christmas isolated - but looking forward to seeing our family in a couple of days.

???????? Eu estaria chegando na minha cidade natal mais ou menos neste horário. Eu ia fazer uma surpresa de Natal para os meus pais - eles sabiam que eu estava chegando, mas eu falei que chegaria só semana que vem.

Infelizmente, algo muito triste aconteceu na quarta, horas antes de ir para o aeroporto, quando recebemos nossos testes. Estávamos preocupados com a demora do PCR, mas felizes por termos encontrado um lugar sem fila para fazer o rápido. Estávamos andando felizes pra casa, íamos tirar um cochilo antes de ir pro aeroporto.

Quando chegamos em casa, nossos celulares apitaram. Eram os resultados. Eu estava negativa. Thiago testou positivo. Ficamos em choque. Depois frustrados - chorei um monte - e finalmente aceitamos o fato que tínhamos que remarcar a viagem. Mais tarde, o PCR chegou... positivo também (pra ele).

Thiago está ótimo - apenas com dor de garganta. Ele nem parece estar doente haha. Eu tô bem. Triste de passar o Natal isolada - mas ansiosa para ver nossa família em alguns dias...

I'm getting a lot of messages with questions about the situation in NY- and I don't have answers for these questions. I just posted a lot of stories - unfortunately, there is no way to post everything here on my feed - and I would like to remember we are living in a pandemic that is almost in its third year and I think what this has taught us is that we are not in control of things.

Yes, I'm scared. I'm tired too. But unfortunately, as far as tomorrow and the foreseen future, I have no answers... I know that a lot of people trust me and believe in what I say here, and that's why I've always said and keep saying that what I think doesn't change anything.

Think about it: are you really looking for an opinion or a confirmation for a decision you've already taken? Sometimes we do that… We need to check facts and remember that traveling in the middle of a pandemic is assuming risks. What risks are you willing to take? At the end of the day, it is about that…

And… I really hope for better days and good news.

Eu postei mais nos meus stories hoje sobre a situação atual em NY - infelizmente não dá pra trazer tudo aqui pro feed - e eu queria que a gente lembrasse que estamos em uma pandemia que já vai pro seu terceiro ano e acho que o que isso nos ensinou é que, infelizmente, não temos controle das coisas.

Eu tô com medo sim. Tô cansada também. Receio de um deja vu. Tô ansiosa. Mas infelizmente, no que tange ao dia de amanhã e ao futuro, eu não tenho respostas… Eu sei que muita gente confia em mim e acredita no que eu falo aqui, e por isso eu sempre falei e continuo falando que o que eu acho ou deixo de achar não muda nada.

É bom refletirmos: você busca realmente uma opinião ou uma confirmação pra uma decisão que você já tomou? A gente às vezes faz isso sem perceber... Precisamos checar fatos, ler, interpretar e lembrar que no meio de uma pandemia, viajar é assumir riscos. Quais riscos você está disposto a enfrentar? No fim das contas, é isso... é sobre quais riscos você está disposto a enfrentar.
