It's the last weekend to see our Leon Polk Smith solo presentation in East Hampton.

Featuring the 1967 multi-panel canvas painting Yellow Diamond, as well as a group of rare works on paper from the 1940s, the exhibition tracks the trajectory of Smith’s practice from an exploration of Piet Mondrian’s Neo-Plasticism to a unique visual vocabulary of soft curves and distinctive shaped canvases that would come to exemplify Smith’s body of work in the 1960s and 70s.

You can currently see more of Smith's work the solo presentation 'Big Form, Big Space' at @cagvancouver, and in 'Hiding in Plain Site' at the @heardmuseum, Phoenix, also now in its final days.

Ahead of the final artist talk around our An Infinity of Traces exhibition, watch Alberta Whittle's 'What sound does the black atlantic make?', screening in full on our Spotlight page.

The work is imagined as a visual and sonic concomitance of racial infrastructures and refusal. Beginning with a lesson in the production of gutta-percha latex and its common use in the soles of footware as a 'shock absorber', Whittle highlights the boom in its production during World War I and mechanisms of state designed to stretch and pull Black bodies, drawing parallels to the experience of the vast numbers of Caribbean and African soldiers that served in the 'mother country' and treatment of subsequent generations of Black Britons.

Whittle will be in discussion with John Akomfrah, Ufuoma Essi, Rhea Storr and An Infinity of Traces' curator, Ekow Eshun, in the last artist talk exploring 'Archive, Memory and the Moving Image', tomorrow at 6pm BST.

Register and watch Whittle's film in full at the link in our bio.
