Lulwa Al Amin for The Kingdom of Bahrain Pavilion at Osaka Expo 2025 Pavilion Staff Uniforms: I wanted to create timeless pieces, elegant yet comfortable for the staff to move in all day . Simple and easy on the eye but when you take a closer look each piece features a print that tells a story from the sea of Bahrain The hand drawn artworks for the Prints and Embroidery feature elements such as Waves, pearl oysters, birds, and native plants . Alongside traditions associated with the sea, such as the Hiya Biya. As the sea is the main focus, most pieces are constructed from a sustainable material made from recycled plastic found on the ocean surface. I also wanted to incorporate traditional craftsmanship in this project. For this I worked with Jamal Shaheen, a renowned Bahraini Dhow builder. Creating handmade buttons using the same wood he uses for his ships.
