The MOMS partnership with @GSK and their #Ask2BSure campaign was a perfect fit. I didn't know that teens and young adults need 2 different kinds of vaccinations to help protect them against the 5 vaccine-preventable groups of meningitis. Last week, at the pediatrician’s office, I did #Ask2BSure and found out that my 17-year-old son Jaron did not receive his meningitis B vaccination yet. @meningitisbactionproject co-founder Patti lost her daughter to meningitis B, and what this mom has done to help educate others since then is truly remarkable. @Jamartinbaum, a meningitis survivor, was a college student when she contracted the disease and had to have her fingers and both legs below the knee amputated... but is sharing her story to help others! It was wonderful to host the event and take part with Soleil @Moonfrye and her daughter Poet, a kind, passionate and beautiful soul and their friend, pediatrician @DrShakha. There is nothing better than being in-person, connected, catching up and spending time with so many people I haven't seen in years and who continue to support our community and make a difference with all they are doing. Mammogram and Sonogram ALL CLEAR! It’s my 9th year since diagnosis and It’s been a tough 24 hours waiting for the results. I didn’t know when I went in yesterday that I wouldn’t walk out knowing that everything was ok. It’s the first time and the technician told me they changed their policy because there’s too many people and too few radiologists. I couldn’t breath and suffered from a lot of anxiety in the past 24 hours, more so now just thinking about the what if’s for my boys since the loss of their dad. I also didn’t tell them I was going to my appointment. It’s just too much. As I was sitting with Jaylan for breakfast this morning, he said, “Today is 1 year and 1 month. I wonder what my life would be…”. We spoke about this “anniversary” as I was checking the portal. Literally at that moment, my results popped up. “No suspicious findings”. I was ecstatic to share my news with him, and he was grateful I hadn’t told him I was waiting. I hope it helped to also shape the mood of his day. I just shared my news with Jaron and he will wake up to a happy text. It’s an important year as I now head towards my 10 year mark. I will happily and healthily begin this “new” year with so many feelings and emotions. I HATE CANCER. I AM SO SICK OF CANCER. AND I am still here to support all of you. It’s what keeps each day so meaningful, so please continue to reach out for support, info, hacks, tips and support.

It was probably one of my best events ever and certainly one of the best nights in a long time. If you haven’t seen @dearevanhansen yet, add it to your list immediately. I’ve been listening to the music daily since I saw it years ago and while I was hoping to bring my son last night, and experience it with him, it was just as good or better the 2nd time around. My son was sick but it’s such an important show to see and talk about with your teens and older kids. Mental Health and everything kids face today is captured and shared in the most beautiful and important way. ????I was so honored to host a conversation with the cast after the show and they shared how impactful it’s been for them to be a part of what I think is the most meaningful show ever. ☀️It was such a bonus to be able to Include so many moms and influencers I know and love and haven’t seen in real life in years.

Cancer doesn’t discriminate. I’ve heard of too many incredible women lost this week. This is the one you all recognize. I’ve heard of others, way younger and with so much ahead of them. No one, at any age should suffer from or go through a cancer journey. There’s still so much to do and please remember cancer doesn’t stop because of covid. Call your friends going through a cancer journey today, ask how you can help. Call your friends who just finished treatment, because it’s an ongoing battle in so many ways. Hug those you love. Live your life. Learn from others, especially from women like Secretary Albright. Don’t ever settle. Don’t ever give up. Don’t ever stop loving and living.
