Getting back to my happy place!

Social media has slowly become a dumping ground for constant complaints, outrage, and negativity. A place where people feel entitled to unload their frustration onto strangers, businesses, and creators without pause, accountability, or empathy. It’s exhausting being on the receiving end of that every single day. Algorithms reward conflict, not kindness. Negativity spreads faster than facts. Outrage gets more reach than gratitude. Social media has also turned into a tool for control — control over businesses, livelihoods, and mental health. One comment, one rumor, one pile-on can impact income, reputation, and years of hard work in seconds. No conversation. No context. No grace. When your job depends on staying visible in that environment, you don’t get to “just log off.” You absorb it. You carry it. You respond politely while being criticized publicly. You stay professional while being personally attacked. It creates: • Chronic stress and burnout • Anxiety over every post and word choice • Emotional exhaustion from constant vigilance • Pressure to perform even on your hardest days • A warped sense of self-worth tied to likes, comments, and reach And the hardest part? You’re expected to smile through it, stay positive, and keep showing up — sadly knowing things will never change because many people don’t realize they’re part of the problem. They just want to be heard, they want to be right, and they live as if the world revolves around them, unable to think beyond their own perspective. Social media can be powerful, informative, and inspiring — but the current culture of constant outrage and entitlement has made it deeply toxic for those who work inside it every day. Just a reminder: There are real humans behind the screens. Real families. Real livelihoods. Real limits. Kindness costs nothing. And it goes further than people realize.

Looking for the cheapest place to shop in Oklahoma? I’m talking about MetroMerch — the place where people literally line up outside the doors every Friday just to get in. Here’s the deal: they restock every week with overstock and returns from major retailers, and the prices drop every single day. You can score electronics, home goods, toys, even furniture — for dollars. Bin prices start at $7 on Fridays! It’s the best day to go! Saturday it’s $5. It’s part treasure hunt, part adrenaline rush, and 100% worth it. If you love a good deal, you HAVE to experience MetroMerch. #oklahoma #oklahomacity #binstore #gooddeal

The Empty Sack This Christmas looked a little different, There was a sack with nothing inside. No presents, no stocking stuffers, Just quiet where laughter once lived. We filled it softly with tissue paper, So your place would still remain. A space that says you are still part of us, Even though heaven now knows your name. My heart aches to hold you again, To hear your voice, to see your smile. But I wouldn’t ask you to leave your healing, Not even for a little while. No more sickness. No more pain. No more long, exhausting days. Just peace, and light, and wholeness In the presence of God’s embrace. So this empty sack is not forgotten, It’s filled with love we cannot see. Because even in your absence, You are still a part of our Christmas… And always a part of me. By Melissa Garcia

Merry Christmas Eve! Everyone was in charge buying someone else a Snuggie this year! It was fun seeing what everyone got! Gave the girls and Lynda a special gift tonight! It was a necklace with Ryan’s fingerprint on it. While we are sad he isn’t here with us this year! We know he’s having the best celebration in heaven!!

My heart cannot take any more death! Last night my heart was completely ripped in two! My 85 year old grandmother who was like my 2nd mom went home to be with the Lord. I don’t understand what the Lord’s plan is for our family this year. I’m not angry, I’m just literally a living zombie right now! This cannot be real! I was just at her house on Monday the day before she passed. Surprising her with a new recliner for Christmas. She was so incredibly happy! We sat down at the kitchen table afterwards and as grandma does, she started telling Daniel and I stories about our family being in the Oklahoma outlaw books and how the history books were completely wrong. She wanted to tell us the real story and I said wait. Let me get this on camera so I pulled out my cell phone and started to record.. Little did I know this would be the last time that I would see my grandmother in person . That night she called me at 6:00 PM and I told her I was on our way to grief share. She said oh Melissa I just want to thank you again so much for the recliner. I just love it. I slept in it all day. You could tell she was just so happy in her voice. I’m so glad she had a good day that day. It makes me happy. But the hole this is left in my heart is larger than anyone can fathom. My grandma was an amazing Christian woman and her sole purpose on this earth was to lead people to the Lord . Many people have been saved because of her. She was my rock, the one I could call when I was sad about losing Ryan and my mom . And now I have lost her!! Please pray for my family as we are going through a difficult time! This is now 4 deaths this year!
