Every once in awhile I get really emotional that this is the place that raised me. I didn’t gave a backyard filled with grass and woods to explore, but I did have a backyard of a city filled with the aroma coming from the halal guy on the corner, taking the subway to school every morning packed like sardines hoping that one of your teachers wasn’t in the same car as you while you were doing your homework, knowing which bodega near school would sell you cigarettes at 15 years old for $15 a pack, and getting to choose from cuisines from any corner of the world at any given moment. It’s not often that I get to stand this tall and take it all in, but when I do it’s hard not to get emotional at how great this place is. I love you New York — you’re my first and forever love.

Went to @dhiranmistry_ at @davidmallett for my first real haircut in a year and a half ? and told him to do his thing - take off weight, give me dimension, and make me feel like a new person. And that he did. Never underestimate what a good cut can do!! One of those cuts that makes me look in the mirror every 5 minutes and makes me feel so beautiful and confident.
