We've got a big day ahead of us at #AAMDRichmond, taking place at @vmfamuseum! (1) ➡️ We're thrilled that Bryan Stevenson, founder and executive director of @eji_org, is giving our opening keynote on role of art museums in addressing questions of racial and social justice. (2) ➡️ We'll also hear from Christy Coleman, CEO of @acwmuseum. She'll be speaking about the approach taken by the City of Richmond to its many public monuments to leaders of the Confederacy and what museums can learn from this. (3) ➡️ In the afternoon, we have a keynote from Aaron Charterji of @DukeFuqua. He’ll speak on CEO activism in our current polarized environment. (4) After some committee meetings, we get to enjoy dinner and art at VMFA, the state museum of Virginia! (Did you know they are open 365 days/year?) thanks to director Alex Nyerges and his tireless staff for hosting #AAMDRichmond!
