Horses have been my passion since I was a kid. I am not sure why and when I realized it…but I remember loving learning the German word Pferden when I was only 7. I am naturally drawn to these animals, I find them strong-willed, sensitive, elegant, and powerful. Due to many reasons, 2020 injuries included, I could not ride them for many years… but the imagery of galloping creatures enchanting beautiful nature of Armenia, never left my mind. I’ve been willing to do it for years. This summer finally, I would travel 1,5 hours to get riding lessons. The fear, the excitement, the soreness, the back pain, all were in a blur. It became my therapy, my way to meditate through heartache, through anxiety, through bitter hue of unfulfilled dreams. I am so absolutely thrilled that I had a chance to capture my love for horses - making it happen just hours before my flight to NY. With the Biblical mountain as a backdrop, I was saying goodbye - to my homeland, to some of my memories. But it was not a sad goodbye. Somewhere between the stirrups, my old idols were left behind and new ideals appeared. In the suddenness of horses’ clanking, an unknown confidence appeared. And in the fear of losing control over the reins, new power emerged. The power to move ahead. Towards new horizons.
