temporary post: looking for models, atm mainly for the next issue - issues? -of my adult zine, will be shooting in october, dm please! i’ve been talking to a lot of people since sunday’s casting post but unless a benefactor steps up i don’t have the means to fly in from the US or S Korea or outside Europe, best to be upfront about it. the next issue will be once again uninhibited and 18+. though it’s a misconception that you need to be a show-off. it’s much more about being present in a very particular visual space and owning it. the zine itself is anything but a show-off either, it’s v limited edition, not sold in physical shops and not even circulating much online. not entirely sure yet but i think the next issue will be channeling R. Rauschenberg. —————————————————————- a while back a good friend of mine was flicking through issue 3 of the zine and said ‘basically this is OF by way of Joy Division’. amen?

‘50 INSTRUCTIONAL PANELS’, new series of artworks, only at the online store, link in bio. this body of work is a reaction/reflection on this year’s masculinity-in-crisis debate where everyone seems to know what’s wrong with men and boys and fathers and brothers and gymrats. i don’t have theories let alone answers, mainly because i wouldn’t even know how to define or pinpoint the notion of masculinity - too vast, too mutable, hijacked too many times. what i do have is pictures, lots of them, and graphics, lots of them. scattered and glued and composed across 50 separate panels, these images (old, new, cut-up, repurposed, found, self-made etc) are not out to confront you or inform you or jolt you. if anything, they are an invitation/instruction to look and consider what you see- do you see beauty or violence, pleasure or entitlement, confidence or frustration. and don’t you feel the need to see all of these things at the same time - ideally? ———————————————————— ‘love me before i own a house’

complete series of artworks ‘50 INSTRUCTIONAL PANELS’ now on view/available in the online store, link in bio! ‘50 INSTRUCTIONAL PANELS’ consists of 50 single fibreboard panels hand-painted white, each 21 x 29,5 x 0,9 cm and each in an edition of 1. each panel holds different kinds of imagery, cut-out and pasted-on, in a loose, rhythmic structure. all panels have the same two kinds of components: on one hand my own graphics, words and re-cropped photographs, on the other hand printed-out downloads from social media accounts - these are the ones collaged onto the ripped newspaper. it’s essential to know that these downloads are all at least 15 years old, made and found way back, before dopamine loops, ring lights and influence being a verb in economics courses. one strange day, 2008, 2009, can’t remember exactly, i went online searching for rugby initiations pictures and somehow ended up, 18 months later, with many, many thousands of worthy images ( no longer rugby-related btw). these weren’t so much inspiration or mood board material - but the unearthing and preservation i felt important and valuable, even if they were just sitting in folders ever since. this year’s Netflix-boosted debate on masculinity-in-crisis got me looking back at these images. i still don’t think they represent a different era or testify of different morals - to me as an artist, they are of such compelling quality that they transcend petty examination. still, what does the culture of today see - or want to see in images featuring the male? how much do we take from the (endless) debates and (endless) opinion rounds? when is an iPhone shot toxic or just shoddy? and when is the time to consider not to care? all images in ‘50 INSTRUCTIONAL PANELS’ love each other -so you know.
