The fast-drying, cotton kilim rug is perfect for the bathroom; Light-weight, soft, doesn't take up too much room in small spaces... So when we went looking for a factory to work with in 2016 we went straight to India, the home of the flat-weave rug. As a matter of fact, the factory we partner with was the first to introduce them to the West in the 1960's (with the help of their friend and partner, Sir Terence Conran).

We just launched a “residency” @longwayflagship in our hometown of San Anselmo, CA. This pop-up means a lot to Michael and I because it’s kind of one of the things that sold us on moving from New York to Marin Co. We were weather-obsessed and looking for somewhere sunny to land. We begin most of our travel plans with a “best coffee” search and that’s how we found @longwayflagship . Initially I was going deep on their insta to make sure ppl weren’t wearing heavy coats in January. But it was the shop-owner’s raw and real posts about small-biz ownership and everything that came with it, that caught our attention the most. Kris Galmarini would kind of live broadcast from the store. She would open up so honestly about the trials of being a shop keeper, she’d announce store hours and changes, she’d talk about her family, she was just so real. While I was really just trying to make sure that this north bay town wasn’t cold and foggy, we discovered the soul of the place. And now we’re here! And Kris is a friend. And life is sunny. And the coffee is good! And Quiet Town is pulled together in a way that an online store could never accomplish. Come by for a lavender latte and a Sun Shower curtain????????♀️ and say hey to Kris and maybe Michael and I will be there too (our studio is just around the corner). I’m not sure how long we’ll be set up at Longway but we’ll let you know! And if you miss us, keep an eye out for whatever pops up here next! Kris is creating a rotating lineup of brands she loves so it’ll definitely be cool????????

Better than a hotel. Don’t know if you’ve noticed, but hotel bath accessories are pretty uninspired. Even the chicest spots deliver a pretty meh experience in the bathroom. What are we getting at?
