Every time i see it, it’s still just as magic , and takes me right back to the first time , when i was just a stupid kid running as far and as fast as i could from New Zealand , trying to make sense of myself and the world. The greatest gift I ever gave myself was moving to Paris , without being able to speak a word of French, without having any friends or family there , and allowing myself to let go of the steering wheel of my own life long enough to realize I was never actually in control of where I was going anyway. Thank you so much @imgmodels.development.jenirose - I hope that in my simple little words to you yesterday you saw how grateful I really am to you (and of course you too ! @davidcunningham). I’ll never forget “Nice goes a long way”. (P.s. to answer all the questions about my finger - my beautiful little doggy accidentally - while trying to say hi to another doggy- pulled his leash while my finger was wedged in between the metal prongs, and yes it got completely snapped the day before i left ????)

This weekend marks 7 years since my family lost my oldest brother Tony. So i wanted to share some photos of me and him, and my brother Kyle, which my dad sent to me yesterday ❤️ And in the hope that it might in some small way help prevent anyone else’s family going through the same experience - especially as we start getting closer to the holiday season, i encourage you all to ask (even the people we think are so strong) how they are really doing? And then pause. And LISTEN when they reply. For people suffering currently from depression, and suicidal thoughts or ideations “Never make permanent decisions based off of temporary emotions”, and for people who see someone shining and think things must be going great “Never compare your insides to anyone else’s outsides”. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in young men and the numbers are increasing. Success to me was radically redefined - now for me success would be leaving this life knowing that anyone, in any situation who came into contact with me (whether a casual transient passerby, the Uber driver , supermarket check out staff, or even a long term partner) would leave our encounter feeling slightly better than how they came into it. “ĀWHINATIA, MANAAKITIA, KŌRERO TAHITIA” (TALK & LISTEN WITH COMPASSION) ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I appreciate getting to be a part of this wonderful humans journey so much, and cannot wait to show what’s coming up… on her birthday today , following the launch of her own swim line @molliebird.swim which i watched her conceptualize, design, construct creative for, right down to hand delivery of some special packages.
