When you judge others, you're not defining who they are...you're defining who YOU are. So next time someone sends some unnecessary, hurtful judgements your way...look back at them, flash a kind smile their way, and remember that it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them. . Here's the way I look at judgement and judging others. How someone chooses to act and live their lives is THEIR choice and THEIR business alone...and unless their actions are directly, and purposefully hurting myself, someone I love, or an innocent bystander, or, if they are causing a direct threat to the safety and well being of others, then YOU DO YOU BOO, and it's NONE of my, or anyone elses buisness! . You wanna cut your hair and dye it a wild colour ? I'll help you pick out a shade! If you want to wear as little clothing as possible, or, cover up entirely...yes babe! Wear what makes you feel good! Wanna get botox, injectables and/or plastic surgery? Go for it! Do what makes you feel good! Not for you? Thats also totally cool, you're stunning already! If you wanna post every thought, meal, and moment of your life on social media, I'll be there to like all your posts. Want to close your accounts and live a private, off the grid life...thats your choice, and I'll support you too! . Live your life for you, and do what makes you happy! Once you realize that when people judge, it's really because they see something in you, that evokes an uncomfortable feeling in themselves (jealousy, fear, shame, low self esteem, etc) that is THEIR feeling and discomfort to deal with...NOT yours. People are far too quick to pass judgment and far too slow to self reflect...and that needs to change. Whenever I feel the urge to judge...I ask myself what triggered that feeling and use the opportunity to look inwards and face my discomfort, because normally, that's a sign I need to work on something myself. It almost never has anything to do with the other person. Less judgment, more acceptance, and understanding. Mother Nature. She is beautiful...but she is PISSED. We are NOTHING without her. She gave us so much, without demand, and now it's time we do something for her. . My home province of BC was hit with a monstrous storm yesterday, and so many souls have been effected. Many stuck in their cars, on highways, between rock and mudslides. Many others, evacuated from their homes, or lost their homes all together due to catastrophic floods. Meteorologists called it an "atmospheric river"...but it was more like an atmospheric tidal wave. 3 months ago the province was on fire due to rampant wild fires and now, much of Southern BC is under water. Vancouver is completely cut off, by road, from the rest of Canada, as highways have been destroyed. I drove those exact highways last month, traveling, and shooting these photos for my 2022 Calendar. The photos of the devastation are heart breakingly horrific...and we're supposed to just clean up and carry on? That's not enough...we must do more! . I, thankfully, live in a high rise on a hill in downtown Vancouver so I was physically unaffected, but thousands weren't as lucky as I. . I'll be donating partial proceeds from my fan pages this month, and calendar sales, to relief aid in BC, and climate change initiatives, both in Canada, and world wide. I used beautiful mother nature as a backdrop and co-model for this project, and so it's only fair that I give back to her as much as I can. . I remember this shoot and trip all too well...my last trip across the border in February 2019. A couple weeks after I got back home, the world, and life as we all knew it, fell apart.
