I took this photo just a few days before I got sick. I am, without exaggeration, the only person I know who prioritizes my health above everything else, with no exceptions. This experience won’t change me because I already have NEVER taken a single day of my health for granted. It’s the first thing I thank God for when I wake up every morning. Every decision I make is filtered through one question: “Will this help or harm my health?” It is black and white for me and it is how I’ve operated my entire life. Everyone who knows me knows how extreme and intentional I am about this. At 10 years old I decided never to drink alcohol. By 15, I had cut out sugar and processed food because I had read about its link to disease. That discipline has shaped everything I do now, including why I made health and performance my career. I even care more about the health of my friends, family, and, even other people’s dogs, than they often do themselves. I’m sharing this because I want those who don’t know me as well to understand just how significant this virus and inflammatory response have been. I haven’t been sick in 25 years. The last time I took a prescription, including antibiotics, was when I was a child. I have not been a conventional dr since I was 12. I have never been to a pharmacy counter. I never got COVID. The only major health event in my adult life was Lyme disease in my late 20s, which I considered to be in line with getting a rabid animal bite that would take down anyone. For someone with a track record like that to be completely knocked down by this virus has been baffling. The past seven days have been some of the most painful of my life and it feels like I still have a road ahead of me. I will be back stronger. I will be posting more tomorrow. I can’t express how grateful I am for all of your love and prayers. It truly has helped me a lot. ♥️SS

Strength isn’t only about what you can lift in the gym. It’s about what you can carry when life takes everything away. I’ve built my body for battle. Every rep, every training cycle, every ounce of discipline has been an investment in resilience. And it pays off in times like this. I put on some make up and a bikini this morning to see how my body was looking. It’s been 11 days without training. But more than that, 5 of those days I didn’t sleep one hour or eat one calorie. Because of the immense pain and uncertainty of what I was dealing with, my cortisol has been through the roof and my inflammation has been sitting at a level 100 times higher than my normal ( CRP usually .001 and was 105). I haven’t been able to support my body with the things I do every single day when I’m not fighting with a devil virus, like sauna, walking, sunshine, laughter. I haven’t even been able to get IVs because of the swelling in my legs. Thankfully I have been able to do my red light panel and my PEMF daily. But my body, my mind and my faith are so f*cking strong, I haven’t deteriorated. I don’t know how long I will be out. My legs are improving and I am adding some additonal things to reduce the inflammation but I still have a ways to go. Just like God, strength doesn’t abandon you in the storm. It shows up because of the storm. And mine is battle-tested. I can’t thank you enough for your prayers. Please keep them coming ♥️???? SS #health #athlete #goals #strong #fitnessmotivation

Strength doesn’t always announce itself. I really enjoy being a secret weapon. I can be dangerous when I choose, unassuming when I want. My program builds people who are athletic, capable, confident, and most importantly useful under any circumstance. I might look soft in a dress, until you see what I can do. My program makes ANYONE stronger, leaner, and dangerous when needed. Not bulky. Built different @myathleticadvantage #strong #goals #health #athlete #fitness #fitnessmotivation .

Most people still think the way to get lean is hours of cardio and endless light weights with high reps. The reality is, Lifting heavy the most effective fat-loss tools you have. Here’s why: ???????? Muscle is metabolically active. The more muscle you build, the higher your resting metabolic rate. That means you burn more calories all day, even when you’re not training. ???????? Heavy lifting signals your body to hold onto muscle while losing fat. If you diet or do only cardio without strength training, your body breaks down muscle right along with fat. That’s why so many people end up “skinny-fat.” ???????? Compound lifts = maximum return. Big lifts like squats, deadlifts, and presses recruit multiple muscle groups, creating massive hormonal and metabolic demand that torches calories during and after your workout. ???????? Afterburn effect (EPOC). Intense strength training elevates your oxygen consumption and calorie burn for hours after you leave the gym. Cardio doesn’t do that- but it does elevate cortisol. Most programs fall short. They omit the things that actually change your body. Progress only happens when you do the “boring” stuff over and over again in a progressive manner. Every single training session should include: 1.Explosive movement/plyometric → Builds speed, power, and athleticism. 2. Max effort compound lift → Trains absolute strength 3. Unilateral work( sometimes under fatigue )→ fixes weak links and develops stability. 4. Accessory work for faulty patterns → develops proper movement patterns to keep you progressing injury-free. Make note that my ATHLETIC BODY PROGRAM does not include snatches. I use these as my explosive movement on and off because I still compete at a high level in CrossFit. My program that I wrote for my athletes, uses other forms of plyometric training. Join my team. $35/month. Link in bio!
