Sneak preview of @tilted.climbing opening soon in North Vancouver! It’s a board only climbing gym, hence the name, but awesome for training. I also got to check out the new @kilterboard “fullride” layout “aka home wall). I’m going to say right away I prefer this layout to the original mainly because it’s harder and has smaller more fingery holds. The app also has most climbs starting 1/3 the way up because people have a 10x10 with no kick wall and this is 10x12 WITH a kicker. Right across from @bridgebrewcrew

Taking over for @shaunacoxsey and I as Chair and Vice-Chair of the @ifsclimbing Athletes’ Commission are two more Olympians @kyra_condie and @campbell_harrison547 ???? Both of these amazing athletes have been on the athletes’ commission for a couple of years and it was awesome seeing them ready to take on the role of athlete representatives on the executive board. I know they will jive well with the existing board and I can’t wait to see what they can accomplish during their terms. It might be a little poetic with the 2028 Olympic Games set for LA and the 2032 Olympic Games set for Brisbane! Exciting Times ❤️

After 14 years on the IFSC (@ifsclimbing) Athletes’ Commission and 13 years as Chair or Vice-Chair on the executive board, it is time to pass on the torch… Over those years I have loved advocating for athletes rights and voicing our concerns and ideas at the highest level of our sport. ???? When I started in 2011 and was elected Chair in 2012, our main goal was The Olympic Games. We had a growing sport, plenty of youth appeal, and our 3 disciplines embodied the Olympic motto “Faster, Higher, Stronger”. I loved being part of the group who presented Sport Climbing to members of the IOC Executive Board. It was exciting, I got to talk about the best parts of the sport I fell in love with at 10 years old, and I was literally lobbying to get Sport Climbing a shot at The Olympics. It was an exciting time, and I was honoured to be a part of the team. ???? Here we are many years later as a core sport in the upcoming LA 2028 Olympic Games. I can’t wait to see where our sport goes now but I’m happy with what we’ve accomplished during this time. ????

2024 has been a crazy year in more than one way. ????While trying to qualify for The Olympic Games Paris 2024, I was also completing another lifelong goal of becoming a father ???? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have always known I wanted kids, and now I can start this crazy adventure! Long story short, life is strange, it throws you curve balls at every chance, and the path is never linear. ???? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After failing to qualify for Paris in Budapest, I managed to rush home in time for the birth of my child. I was quite relieved to not have missed it and still been able to compete at both OQS events! I am super happy to welcome my son “Tommy” into this world! None of this would’ve been possible without my beautiful partner Jennifer and after witnessing childbirth, I have a new perspective on the whole process. I now can’t wait to adventure with my own son! ????
