Slowly stepping into the Gregorian calendar new year. Is it too late to wish you all a joyous new year? I mean why stop at a year, why not wish each other joy outside of this construct that is time? As @kevinmorosky said recently - what is a year anyway? I’ve really been enjoying seeing and hearing folks move away from the “new year, new me” vibes. I think @futurefemmetext said it best when they said “Remember that this renewal energy is always yours because it lives in the mind, not on the calendar” I hope that if you like me aren’t new year, new me club, and are still very much in the processing mode - that you keep doing you. Your spark is still there, it’s not be performed, it’s to be loved and tended to new year or not. ✨ [my fave pic is the blurry one - it reminds me of Starry Night but in dress form]

One of the many things I love about art is how when someone expresses themselves it can transgress barriers, it can show us a part of ourselves reflected, like a mirror with extra insight. Sometimes it’s only in art that I have those lightbulb moments, the insight into something I’ve struggled with, or just a way to articulate feelings where my words stop short. Last month I visited one of those immersive Van Gogh exhibitions. There are quite a few going, some varying in quality and immersion, but the one I went to found me at just the right time. I took solace in the words of dead man’s letters and his art. Nailed it. Unlike our government… It’s hard to feel festive at the moment but I’m inching towards all the joy in what I feel is going to be an anxious season. As someone who’s in the nail biters club, I gotta fake it until I can make it as they are brittle when they do grow out. “Seat of Power” And now for something different ???? Erm I tried my hand at making a collage. It was inspired by a guided meditation I did recently where we imagined what our “seat of power” - and I imagined something almost throne like. Something that represented the sovereignty over my life. Or at least how I want to feel when it comes to steering the path of life. Then I embellished it with Leo energy because I’m extra ????
