Love this set from @fpmovement. Don’t love w(hatever)tf I’m doing with my right big toe ??‍♀️ Also love the time and space I have right now to get deep into my body. It feels like I’ve been waiting my whole life to dig this deep, to get this quiet, to move this slow. ⁠ ⁠ Don’t get me wrong: I absolutely ? appreciate the devastation and fear inherent in “these uncertain times” but I’m doing what I can to find a way to keep waking up everyday excited to be alive. For me, that means cracking open parts of myself I lost touch with so long ago I barely recognize them as my own. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ⁠

I’ll admit: I hate being in front of a computer. My hips and back hurt from the sitting. But being forced to use screens as a way to stay connected right now has opened my eyes to ways I can do my job, stay in touch, be of service - ways I never would have discovered without being forced to #wfh.⁠ ⁠ My office is in my backyard these days so I can be outside and get sunshine on my skin, and my studio is set up in my bedroom so I can teach yoga & indoor cycling on Zoom (book in bio!).⁠ ⁠ And as much as I hate the uncertainty of when we’ll all be able to get back to the life that seems like a distant memory right now, I love the way I’m being forced to pivot. I’ve learned more about myself, my shadows, & my blind spots in the last 2+ weeks than I have in the last 5 years.⁠ ⁠ I’m using @irisandromeo on my face to protect from UV & blue light, I’m wearing @diffeyewear when I’m not in sunglasses to protect my eyes from the blue light of so much phone/computer/TV time, and I’m making sure to move my body everyday in a way that feels more therapeutic than performative.⁠ ⁠ I’m taking the hint to slow down and get quiet. I’m letting my nervous system stay as calm as it can despite the alarms going off all around me. Because I can’t go out, I’m going in. How are you adjusting to this (temporary!) new normal?⁠ ⁠

This is a picture of me and my friends. We’ve known each other for 10 years. We met in DC. It feels like a lifetime ago - we were literally young, wild & free then. We snapped this selfie after a dinner a few weeks back at which we each, in our own way, slowly started to realize this virus thing was real. Real scary. Real serious. Real close to home.
