What would you say to your kids if they looked back to these days being in lockdown at home ? Here is my little take ⬇️ ???? ???? I want you to know that despite all the yelling and fights we may have over the madness you drive me to.....I Love You all from the core of my heart. ❣️ We had some great times together while in lockdown, but it was also difficult for us all. We aren't made to be locked in four corners. I understand that as hard it was for me as your mom, it was also tough for you as kids. So I applaud you for being so patient and resilient. You guys will have so much stories to tell your kids someday about living through a pandemic. But for now, I hope you will enjoy your childhood to your fullest and I pray we come out of this soon and we won't have to go through a lengthy lockdown ever again. Sincerely, Mom . . Today I am a little melodramatic. Because, yesterday all of my kids went back to school...a year after the Lockdown of 2020 . . . . #muslimmom

Mini Owl Pancakes for the win! ????? ???? ???? ??? ?????? ? Getting my Kids to Eat has been more difficult than ever recently. I don't know what it is...maybe the fact that they're always home now they don't even like breakfast anymore. I'm a big believer of having a Great Breakfast ?? But my kids ? Meh...not so much Being more playful with the presentation of their plates has been a fun discovery! They love it! Kids have proven that visual presentation matter on appetite?? ?? ???? ????? ? ??? ?????? . . . . . . . . #muslimahblogger #muslimmoms #muslimmommies #muslimmomblog #pickyeaterapproved #torontomommyblogger #mommychef #foodartforkids

Happy National Bagels Day was last month! Dempsters bakery has launched a new line of Signature Bagels with some exciting new Flavours! The new favours are: They are Four Cheese, Banana chocolate chip, Parmesan and Herb Cheese, Blueberry and Maple French Toast! #nationalbagelday We Love a good lightly toasted Bagel spread with butter or cream cheese in this house. My absolute favourite to buy from Deli/bakeries was the French Toast Bagel but now that @dempstersbakery has it available I no longer have to take out! ?? I had a sweet and savory bagel set up here for breakfast today! Which will you pick? Maple French Toast or Permesan Herb?? Bagels are going to be staple for our breakfast now that we have so many more varieties. ?? . . . . . . #AD #madebycanada #whatsyoursignature #peerbagel #canadianmomblogger #torontomuslim @peersway @dempstersbakery

??? ?? ??? ???? ???? ?? ???? ??????? ???? ? { Swipe to See the Captions Over Image } ? Reading everyday is essential in this Home. Because I believe reading is air to our soul just like oxygen is to our body. If my kids don't read on their for some reason ..one of us (husband or I) will read something to them. My husband usually reads Hadith Books to the Kids and I usually read anything that the kids vote on being read to! ?'? ???? ?? ???? ?? ??? ?? ??? ???? ?? ?? ??? ???? ? ??????? ????????? ?? ???? ????? ⬇️ . . . . . #muslimreaders #muslimmom #muslimahmommy #readingwithkids #readingtokids #kidsreadingcorner #readingnooks

Do you agree? Many of us can say, we're guilty of misunderstanding our children when they are having meltdowns. We may try to corner them and even brush it off when truly they need the most support during these times. ?? I'm guilty of thinking in the past that their meltdowns and tantrums meant they were asking for attention. While truly they just needed my emotional support to help them through the feelings they can't quite grasp just yet. As a parent I am constantly trying to break the cycle and understand, we're not just raising children here. We're also raising future adults. We're reaching then how to respond by how we respond to them. ??? . . . . #muslimmom #motherhoodandme #raisingadults #raisingmen #raisinglittlehumans #muslimahblogger #muslimmomblog #muslimhomeschool #momlifewithboys

To Honour ????????'? ?????? ?????? ???? which is February 1st-February 7th I have made a list of ways You & I can fill our children's Emotional Needs Everyday. This lockdown hasn't only been tough for us parents, but also for our children. Often we get lost in the madness of a daily chaotic life and we forget our children are absorbing our energy and they need validation of all the Big Little Emotions they feel. ???? ??? ?? ???? ????? ⬇️ #1) Morning & Bedtime Snuggles - these are the two crucial times when kids are most vulnerable. Going to bed can be overhwhelming for some kids due to fear of sleeping alone/night mares, bed wetting etc. Waking up when mom or dad may not be around can fe lonely too. I make sure I snuggle/hug my kids (even my 11 year old) to assure them I am here and they are safe. #2) Hugs reduce stress and lower anxiety/depression. Family therapist Virginia Satir said, “We need four hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.” #3 & #4) Ask your kids how they're feeling often and truly listen to them while making eye contact. This will form an emotional bond with you both ? Dr. Nerissa Bauer, developmental pediatrician says that eye contact is important for social, emotional & language development. #5) Have a Phone Free Time set for a period of time in a day - this will not only give a positive msg to the kids that you value them but you will.alao appreciate the wholesomeness of being present and mindful of the present. ♥️♥️ I have collaborated with these amazing Mental Health Advocate Bloggers ⬇️ @multiculturalmotherhood @themunchingmedic @minimindfulmuslim @a_bitofpink @themontessoristudio @letslearnmama @mindful_muslim_mama @thehijabimomm @freyasfunnyfeeling @thepreciousyears . . . #muslimmom #muslimahblogger

▶️ Tell me ONE EXPECTATION YOU HAD On MOTHERHOOD before you actually became a Mother? Swipe left to see my not so IG worthy home ? ??Before I became a Mother I thought I would be rocking this motherhood stuff with flying colours. I'd be the Coolest Mom making "Pinterest Worthy" ? rainbow sandwiches, baking cookies and talking sweetly to my kids ?, making Lego structures, playing house with my kids kinda Motherhood. ?? Joke of the century right. What was I thinking? Who feeds these kids? Who stays up rocking them to sleep! Who has to keep 33 tabs open in the brain ? and possibly have a panic attack from overthinking it all? Who has to make lunch and dinner? Who potty trains? Who cares for them during sicknesses? ?? Besides all of that I have to maintain my mental health? Be nice to the Hubby? ( Whyyyy) and so on..... We all thought it would be EASY AND DIFFERENT from others. But in reality, we are all working hard and struggling yet balancing. Not giving up and keeping our head up, forcing a smile because our kid need us to. ??? IF YOU READ till this far. I thank you. Happy Friday. . . . . #muslimmom #muslimmoms #muslimahblogger #muslimmomblogger
