One of my biggest lessons as a woman who had hair for the first time in ages again is how much time and tending it requires. I have much respect for every minute and hour spent in a chair just to fix and prime that crown because, my goodness, does it take this woman’s work, and love and TIME (AND MONEY!!). I’m grateful for the same crown that allows me my power and strength even in the absence of its strands. I had to call the barber. ??‍♀️??

Yesterday marked 13 years since the passing of my angel mom. ? I feel perfectly at peace, a feeling that takes time to arrive to after the loss of a parent. As I sat reflecting on the journey, I couldn’t help but smile gleefully at pictures and memories of her. I feel oddly close to her and I deeply cherish her essence; a feeling I owe to giving myself fully to the process of healing through therapy.

The true result of paying close attention to our mental health is a freedom I can only speak of in words. I wish it for every soul. ?✨
