Read something on @karachista1 stories that got me thinking about something that I’ve been feeling for quite some time. She talked about how before these elaborate weddings were the simpler times. Planning your outfits and doing each other’s makeup— times when weddings were a more wholesome and intimate occassion.
Tbh, ever since I was a child I wanted to be a bride ?? I wanted a fairytale wedding but more than ever I wanted the family gatherings, late night chillings, all cousins sleeping in the same room, waking up in the morning for halwa puri.
I think before weddings became a fully commercialised industry they were such a great occasion. Nobody really cared about how the pictures would come out or who was doing their makeup. It was all about the pranks and the partying. The unchoreographed dances and just the feeling of being surrounded by your loved ones ♥️
I think that charm is gone now. Even if we do intimate small weddings phir bhi that feeling is not there. Weddings have become a discourse on the status quo. I don’t know...I just wish that magic comes back soon!
What do you guys feel?
