Today, I completed a month of moving to Bangalore. And I took some time out to self reflect. Well, my eyes got a little watery (maybe a couple of tears rolled down my cheeks) while writing this caption. I had never imagined I would ever leave Pune just like that. This was one of the hardest things to do. If only I could describe how much I miss Pune. This city has given me so much and I am forever indebted. But the silver lining is I moved to Bangalore, closer to my family.

The last few months have been pretty rough, to say the least. There were so many negative things in 2020, that it felt like it's impossible to go back and be positive. Positivity is my way of life and I choose to stay positive no matter what. And especially this year, I made the mental choice to keep my positive mind first and not let the bad things affect me (though I had my fair share of emotional meltdowns every now and then which is only human). 2020 has been a tough year for all of us for a lot of reasons. And when we are surrounded by negative things, negative news, and negative emotions, we fear, we complain and we get so lost in the process that we sometimes forget to notice the good things happening to us/around us. I’m learning to count my blessings more, remind myself to be more grateful, and striving for not much else, but to just be able to roll with it.

Shit happens, and then it gets better, and then shit happens again. But you gotta celebrate the good things and find lessons and growth in the bad shit. To list down a few good things that happened to me this year and I am grateful for:

- Got a promotion at work ?‍?
- Found the love of my life; hey there @insta.chow.gram ?
- Improved my eating habits (still working on fixing my sleep schedule which is messed up right now)
- Saved a little & I am at a good place financially (@courtesy ‘lockdown') ?
- Moved to Bangalore

I believe you can find a ray of light in any dark situation, as long as you believe you can! Tell me in the comments one good thing that happened to you this year. I would love to know?

“When you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You appreciate it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree.

The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying “You’re too this, or I’m too this.” That judging mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.” — Ram Dass
