Honestly, our trips have become even more memorable, fun, and engaging with Rowan. Yes, it’s harder, but trust me it’s worth it. They make all this mobil baby sh*t for a reason mamas!

Last year, Andrew and I decided to “legally” marry.... well I think he decided for us after the craziest proposal in November 2019. *I’ll save that story for another time* but let’s just say, I was pregnant ??with Rowan and NOT in the mood for Andrew’s “plans.” Then he proposed and I felt like the biggest B**** of the west. The fact he still wanted to marry me after that day is beyond me.

Anyway, we always saw ourselves as life partners and didn’t need more than that. We also weren’t fans of marriage only being solidified by a contract with the government. Not the cutest thing in the world if you ask me. We’ve always wanted to do a 10yr ceremony which we had already started planning before all of this but logistical thoughts about our future, now that we had a son, came into play.

After 9.5 years together (at that point) we decided it’d be in our best interest, especially after Rowan was born, to sign that contract. The contract pretty much said, “what’s his, is mine - and what’s mine is mine.” SIGNED THAT SHIT REAALLL FAST!

On this day last year, we had a private ceremony at home. It wasn’t more than 10mins and @christiannevictoria (our witness) fed us prosecco ? and @pinkboxdoughnuts ? to celebrate after, MY DREAM. Andrew made me cry over his vows and I found it hard to follow him. He always has a way with words... (when he actually wants to speak).

“Choosing” your partner daily is the biggest spiritual lesson in life. Marriage or not. It forces you to think beyond just your needs. It forces you to see life past your own filters and perceptions. It pushes you to expand and grow past your own comfortable limits. Some days love pisses you off, some days the flow is just right, some days your husband takes 55 naps and you wonder HOW THE HELLLLLL CAN HE STILL BE TIRED?!?..... I digress...

This man has taken care of me in all the ways a man can. Andrew, thank you for our life, our baby, our home, our dreams. I love you forever. ✨?

I went my whole life thinking I’d never want any kids. It took Andrew and I, 7 years to even consider that option for us. We were very happy with our life and our freedom.

Rowan will be a year old (May 4th) and I’m feeling a little sentimental. Just thinking about it makes me feel all the facets of emotions. Thinking of all we learned this year can make your head spin.

We all know babies brains are developing everyday at a rapid pace but parents are also going through major learning curves with each stage. The first year of a babies life is a huge milestone for both baby AND parents.

For a while I thought, “we don’t need a big bday for him, he won’t remember a damn thing.” (he won’t) but at the same time, it’s not just HIS birthday, it’s the “birth-day” of us BEING PARENTS! and the fact we got through this year not knowing a f’ng thing and still managing ro raise a happy baby is reason enough to celebrate!
