Ever accidentally called your Pothos a Philodendron? You’re definitely not alone! While these two look like long-lost twins and actually belong to the same family (Araceae), there are a few giveaways that will help you ID them like a pro????️♀️
????Leaf Shape: Philodendrons are more distinctly heart-shaped, while Pothos leaves are shaped a bit like a folded pizza slice
????Sheaths: Look for cataphylls! These are the thin, papery sheaths found at the nodes of Philodendron that protect new leaves.
????Aerial Roots: Pothos typically have one large aerial root per node, whereas Philodendron sprout smaller ones in a cluster.
