Someone challenged me some years ago to start creating the sound and the songs that I wanted to hear. So for the last few years that's what I've been doing. This collection of songs is my latest offering of musical worship. They might not be sung in churches or at conferences around the world, and they might not be to everyone's musical taste, but I'm ok with that, because I believe that the more diverse our offerings of musical worship are, the richer our collective worship is. So, if you know someone like me who doesn't really "like" worship music, maybe they'll like this. And if not this, encourage them to check out the thousands of other indie worship artists out there making great worship music. As someone who loves God, worship, and music, my aim with these songs is to have music I can meditate to, and that feeds my mind and soul with the word. PS: This EP is best served with a good coffee or glass of wine ???? In light of the devastating wildfires that swept through Los Angeles in early January, we felt called to revisit this song, and record and release an updated version. Many in our community were directly impacted - facing evacuations, losing homes, and experiencing the ongoing effects of this tragedy. We are excited for the first release from MODERN / HYMNAL which is a new version of the song HOLD ON which was originally written during the Covid pandemic by Tom Read, Jamie Thomson and Lauren Harris. We have recorded an updated version in response to the wildfires which ravaged Los Angeles at the beginning of January. So many of us were personally affected by this, having to evacuate and losing homes, and the impact of this tragedy is still looming large over our community and church here in LA. This new version was recorded with @andrea.aaav and @tom_read and will be released on March 14 on all streaming platforms, along with a lyric video to accompany the song.
