Growing up in the 90s, weekends always started the same way. My late mother coming home with a bag of kuehs for us to share. It was her little love language… simple, warm, and always comforting. So when I had @ahyeessoonkueh the familiar smell of freshly made kueh really hit me. For a moment, it felt like stepping back into those mornings with her. ???????? Their handmade kuehs are everything I remember. 材实料, soft, bouncy, and full of that old-school flavour you can’t fake. From Soon Kueh, Png Kueh, Ku Chye Kueh, Nyonya Kueh, Yam & Pumpkin Cake, Achar, Glutinous Rice, and even their homemade Kaya… every bite feels lovingly crafted. The Soon Kueh especially reminded me of her, thin chewy skin, generous filling, nothing fancy but made with heart. And their Kaya… rich, aromatic, slightly grainy, just like the kind she used to spread on my bread before school. If you are a fan of these kuehs, you must try them out! Aricia’s face literally lit up the moment we stepped into Downtown East’s Unicorn Christmas Garden, running from 8 Nov to 31 Dec and filled with lights, sparkles and such dreamy unicorn décor ✨???? Wild Wild Wet is the biggest hit! A unicorn-themed waterpark from 8 Nov–1 Jan, complete with adorable floats and foam parties every Sat & Sun (12–4pm). Peak Day Pass also came with a free unicorn mocktail/beer (worth $5.50) which was such a nice festive touch. We even stayed till nighttime for the free Movie Under the Stars (15, 22, 29 Nov). Aricia happily munching unicorn cotton candy + rainbow popcorn under the night sky… those little moments are the ones I’ll remember ❤️???? Before we left, we did the $5 Pose, Snap & Redeem.
