What a way to kick off 2026???????? #BuildingBlackPoliticalPower
Real progress in Baltimore.
The city is ending the year with its lowest number of homicides in decades, and that didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of neighbors, community leaders, public safety partners, and city and state leadership working together with intention to save lives.
There’s still work ahead, but this moment matters. Congratulations to @mayorbmscott and everyone committed to making Baltimore safer. #buildblackpoliticalpower
A federal legal fight is unfolding over the controversial renaming of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Rep. Joyce Beatty, an ex officio member of the Kennedy Center board, has sued President Donald Trump and the board, arguing that the vote to add Trump’s name was unlawful because only Congress has the authority to change the name of a national memorial. Her lawsuit also alleges she was muted and prevented from speaking during the board meeting where the vote took place.
The suit asks a federal court to void the board’s action and restore the Kennedy Center’s name under federal law.
This is "transparency."

As if you needed another reminder to show up at the polls.
2026 is a huge year. The damage done by this administration didn’t happen by accident, and it won’t be undone by sitting out. If we want to stop the chaos and start moving things in the right direction, voting is the mandatory.
Shoutout to @thegrio for the thorough recap. Now it’s on us. We’ve got a lot of work to do.
