A note from Gretchen Williams, owner/founder: ☕️ Coffee, in many ways, is a lot like people: sourced from different backgrounds, with different notes, flavors, strengths and fragilities, different modes of process, handling, and of course, enjoyed in a diverse and dynamic mosaic of so many different ways. From the very beginning of Heartbreak Coffee, my goal has always been to connect and touch base with every single person we have the privilege of serving in our unique Oxford community. I know that not everyone who walks through our doors shares the exact same priorities, or voting values, and some of us may be entirely on the opposite spectrum of our nation’s political scene... but that’s okay. Because in this shop. in this space. We are family. My staff is my family. And they are an eclectic mix of wonderful, crushingly beautiful people who work hard every single day to make your oatmilk matcha lattes and iced mochas just right, because every single day we all care to bring a smile and some comfort to your daily ritual. And whether you voted one way or another, or like dogs more than cats, or put creamer in your coffee or not... we ask that as a community we continue to share our space with love and respect for another. Heartbreak Coffee is a place free of judgement, free of hate and discrimination and no matter what happens outside our four walls, we will always and forever do our part to act as a beacon of unity, love, dignity, and light for our community ♾️♥️ Coffee, in so many ways, is also so entirely not like people. We filter coffee. We grind it. We roast it close to 400 degrees and put it on our shelves and sometimes even forget it’s there. This is all to say... leave the roasting and the grinding to us. Treat others with kindness, and compassion, and COME IN A BUY A DANG HAT because these things are COOL. We got this ????
