Building a clothing brand from scratch is the most creatively rewarding yet complex journey I’ve been on. It really is the epitome of delayed gratification—from ideation to realization, you spend months, sometimes years, to create just a few products. But there is nothing that fuels me more than this process. Hunting down the best fabrics, facing rejection after rejection from manufacturers because we’re “too small” to work with, rounds and rounds of prototypes, refining every centimeter, seam and rib on each garment until we reach our own subjective version of perfection. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Tomorrow, 18th of October, will be our second @dessaintstudio drop, and I’m so excited to be able to put these pieces out there; Scottish wools, British knits, Pima Cottons, it took us a LONG time to refine these fabrics, silhouettes, and exact shades, but I couldn’t be happier with the result.
