I had an honor of sharing with @vogueczechoslovakia how my Slavic roots and Ukrainian childhood impact and inspire my designs @dianamilkanova.studio “I find the most creative freedom in designing outerwear. I believe that a statement coat can be a wardrobe staple, especially in the colder months, where it often defines the entire look. The creative process is endlessly fulfilling for me—from carefully selecting fabrics to imagining new designs that resonate with my vision of sophisticated, yet effortlessly wearable fashion. Ukrainian heritage subtly infuses my designs, woven into the fabric of my creative process. It’s not always overt but manifests in thoughtful details and elements. For instance, the silhouettes of the Butter Coat and Milky Jacket draw inspiration from traditional Slavic women’s costumes, especially the voluminous sleeves of the blouse. Additionally, I often incorporate layered looks reminiscent of the Ukrainian “plakhta” by draping unstitched silk over tailored pants.” Read more on Vogue.cz
