So following @dentist.camera request, here you can see some more details on how I managed the hard and soft tissue in this specific case. This patient has a missing lateral, and in that position she has a canine. Due to radicular anatomy of the canine, many times it is difficult to make it look like a lateral, since they are naturally much wider at the cervical region… that’s why I had to narrow that area and also change the zenith position to make that tooth more “lateral incisor-looking”. At the same I created some room for the papilla to grow coronally between the pontic and that tooth, also helped by the pressure applied by the new ovate pontic design on the tissue, as you can see on the occlusal picture. I left the temps in place for 4 days and evaluated the area. Made some adjustments on the contact points to allow the tissues to grow more and after 1 week we made final impressions, once we achieved the soft tissue architecture desired for this case (check the papilla achieved and the scalloped design on the pontic area to create a natural looking emergence profile). Then I asked my ceramist, in this case it was @the_magic_powder to follow my temps design and he gave the final touch with a beautiful feldspathic veneer on the lateral position and a cantilevered bridge made of layered zirconia to blend in with her natural teeth. Don’t get it wrong… we (dentists) don’t do veneers, or cosmetic dentistry, or gum lifts, or implants, or grafting, or all together… The picture is bigger!!
