It’s hard to believe, but PDC turns 5 today!!! That’s right, we opened our first store in Chestnut Hill on December 11, 2020. Thanks to every single person who has supported us! We couldn’t do it without you. Even though we closed our first location last year, we have the fondest memories of those early days. For anyone new to Pink Door, this location was teeny tiny; 160 square feet to be exact. (Fun fact: there were only two retail spaces in our price range back then. The one that became our first location, and a former cell phone repair/vape shop. ????) We think we made the right decision. And even though it was small, it was a blank canvas. We were able to build it out specifically for the days of COVID to serve our cookies safely. SON OF A NUTCRACKER!!! We’re having Buddy’s Breakfast this weekend!!! Y’all, the spirit is spiriting at PDC this year so we wanted to bring back an old Christmas favorite (last time we made this was 2022 ????) for a very limited run flash batch! If you’re new here or just need a lil refresher, Buddy’s Breakfast is inspired by one of @mathewsweet ‘s favorite Christmas films, Elf! This most important meal of the day is brimming with mini M&M’s, crushed Pop-Tarts , crispy noodles, a hint of rich maple syrup, a bunch of Christmas sprinkles, and a whole lot of holiday cheer! We have some new followers around here so we thought we’d take a sec to reintroduce ourselves! In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, our founder, Mathew Rice, a celebrated pastry chef, found himself without a job. To make ends meet and to try to bring some joy to the local community in Nashville, Mathew started selling cookies out of his house with a pink front door. ???????? Folks would order online from a menu of cookies inspired by Mathew’s love for nostalgic flavors and pick up their order from the front porch (“Just look for the pink door!”). Word spread quick and, after a successful Kickstarter campaign, we were able to open a cute and tiny (only 160 sq ft!) shop in South Nashville that same year! Eventually, we needed way more room to keep up with demand so, in 2024, we moved to a bigger space in West Nashville where we are today!
