When life feels like a movie ???? >> The story: There were so many moments on this trip where I felt like the universe or Mother Nature was giving us gift after gift to celebrate our engagement. This was one of them! We had spent a couple of nights in Damaraland which gets very little rain every year and our first night we saw a lightning storm in the distance and thought “how cool would it be if we got rain!” The next night, the lightning started in the distance and the rain came shortly after and it was like the sky opened!! We were drenched in moments and the happiness I felt in that moment to dance around in the rain made me feel so alive! When we got inside for dinner the staff was so excited with us while everyone else at dinner would be trying to not get wet. I swear one of the most beautiful things about traveling is being to experience things that are so once in a lifetime. Even for the people that live there. #damaraland #namibia #africa

WE’RE ENGAGED!!! ???????? On February 5th, the first official day of our trip in Namibia, we went on a sunset atv ride with some of our friends/family. I wanted to capture a moment of us being all together as it had been 5 years since we were last there. Mike had some plans of his own ???? As I was setting up the tripod, he took the ring he so secretly hid in my camera bag and put it in his pocket. We huddled together and shared some loving words to each other and expressed how happy we were to be there. As I walked back I heard Mike call out “Melly” I turned around to find him down on one knee. It was the fastest head nod and easiest YES I’ve ever said. Namibia became Mike’s second home a long time ago and when I first came here it took me all of 5 seconds to fall in love with this country. For him to propose here means so much to the both of us. It’s about damn time ????✨ How to recreate: 1) Clap in your first location 3 times. Make sure your hands are out in front of you and fill the width of the phone in the camera. 2) Clap again in your last location. Make sure you are standing on the same side as you started (or flip the clip in InShot afterwards) 3) Edit: On the first clip edit until the closing of the hands on the last clap. Almost 2 months later…I’m back ???? Last week we turned vacation mode ➡️ on and it was everything we needed. Most of my work these days is happening offline (hence the absence) and the moment we got to Mexico I was so excited to create and get posting again!
