A day late, but still wanted to show my appreciate for #WorldOceanDay. The infinite value that the ocean has taught me will forever be instilled into my soul. I’ve been blessed by knowledgeable friends and experiences that have shaped my outlook on the ocean and how vital it is to our lives. Growing up in the flat plains of Texas, I never really paid attention to the ocean or how my life was affected by it. Over the last few years I’ve been exposed to how devastating certain actions have on the ocean and what that means to daily life. Everything comes full circle, and I’m so thankful for the humbling experiences I’ve had out in the water. Don’t get me wrong, big waves are incredible, but so damn scary. I’ve never been put in my place like that. It’s these moments that level your thinking and cause you to dive deeper in the power of research and educating yourself. (I had to put that pun in there). Anyways, I know so many things are in motion right now, but It’s been a blessing seeing a global start to this revolution of justice.
