? Birthday Disco Cowgirl Barbie B*tch ? I have so many “thank you’s” to make but I’m still riding out this feeling of birthday orgasmic bliss for a little while longer so bear with me ?⁣
⁣
As I was approaching this day, the anxiety and mid-life crisis wave hit me hard, and in combination with a bunch of other things, I fell into a deep depression this last week and a half. I hadn’t experienced that in a long time but I think the radical shift of change in lifestyle to prepare for these photo shoots was a big catalyst for those feelings.⁣
⁣
During that time and stripping away every single vice that I would use to self-medicate and forget those feelings, I was now having to face it head on. When I saw the light, it was probably the greatest gift I could’ve given myself and realizing that I was approaching this birthday with the exact same fears and anxiety that I had the previous year. I made the decision in that moment that I didn’t want to live that way for a whole new year of my life.⁣
⁣
My commitments to myself include:⁣
1️⃣ - Loving my body and being f*cking proud of it. F*ck my insecurities and body dysmorphic disorder. I can and will embrace the body I was born with and pushing myself more than ever. Stay tuned for more on that next week ?⁣

2️⃣- Throwing events. I’ve always been scared to throw events because of the fear and responsibilities, but after putting together an event in just a couple of days on an “off night” and having a f*ckin blast, I pushed through the anxiety and conquered that. Stay tuned for more planned and curated events from me ?⁣

3️⃣- Doing a better job of communicating even more with my loved ones and friends. I get so caught up in the destination sometimes that I forget it’s about the journey, and having fun and connecting in the process. ?‍♀️⁣

@toddbrealty is not only one of my favorite human beings on the planet ? but he’s the OG of the Austin DJ scene, voted “Best DJ” 5 years in a row by Austin Music Awards, and carefully selects his shows these days so get excited!⁣

@djsober recently played a pop-up with Leon Bridges in Austin and has been one of the most prominent DJ’s in Dallas for the last decade. Stoked to see him switch it up a bit with some house music, while still keeping the party vibes with his signature sounds that has had him play parties and events for Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, Fader Fort and voted “Best DJ” in Dallas numerous years ?⁣

@djferno is one of my close friends and this Philly transplant now calls Austin home. He started DJ’ing at 16 and toured the world with DJ Jazzy Jeff and has played alongside legends like Questlove, Terry Hunter and at the LEGENDARY SXSW party “Open House” every year by the King of Party Vibes and Austin plug, @paulsellstx of @twelveriversrealty ?⁣
