Sometimes I look at my life and think, “I’m still just a little girl caring for two little boys.” When I was younger, I thought becoming a mom would turn me into this totally confident, grown up version of myself. Someone who knows exactly what she’s doing all the time. Someone who feels like an adult in every situation. But most days, I still feel like that little girl. The same girl who gets unsure. The silly girl. The girl who wants to be loved and to feel like she belongs. At the same time, I look at the things I do now and I think younger me would be SO impressed. I make decisions, I manage so much, I take care of two little humans, I show up every day, even when I’m tired or confused or second-guessing myself. That’s pretty big. So maybe growing up doesn’t magically erase the little girl inside you. Maybe you just become someone who carries her along while also becoming the person she needed. Just some food for thought.
