For ALL the reasons, not the least of which is that strong glutes give you stability in your inversions! They are the ???? that keep you from toppling over.⁣
? Remember - the glutes are not just the round ? in the back! There are also crucial gluteus muscles on the sides (medius & minimus) & they need to be strong, too!⁣

I have 2 drills to build ?????? (& shapely ☺️) glutes ::⁣

? ???? ????? ??? ??? & ???? - start with knees bent & move up as you get stronger to straight legs⁣
? ??????? ????? ??????? ????? - lift the straight leg, bend to 90, pulse up⁣

The challenge with inverted splits is that you don’t have any leverage - the floor, the wall - to push against. You have to move this way on your own! Yes, you could rely strictly on flexibility .. or you could involve some muscles, too!⁣

??‍♀️ start in down dog & lift one leg w/ control.  Really engage your glutes & hamstring⁣
?? walk your feet in a bit & repeat⁣
??‍♂️ then take that same action you trained into your inversion⁣
