Glossary.

Influencer marketing has too many three-letter acronyms. Here is what every one of them means on Keepface, with the long version under each.

A

Affiliate link

Trackable URL assigned to a creator

A unique URL per creator. Clicks, sessions and orders pass through it so revenue attributes back to the right person, even when the cookie expires.

AI brand-safety

Pre-screen creator content against brand guidelines

A vision model scans every accepted post for unsafe context, off-brand co-mentions, gesture and audio sentiment. Anything that breaches the rules is flagged before it goes live.

AOV

Average Order Value

Total revenue divided by number of orders, used to size affiliate commission rates and forecast creator-driven revenue.

B

Briefing

The campaign one-pager creators accept

Sections: brand context, objective, deliverables, posting window, fee, licence, do-and-do-not list. A clean brief gets filled out fully on the first pass.

C

Clawback

Reversed commission when an order is refunded

Refund-aware affiliate commission. If the buyer returns the product the creator commission is automatically deducted from the next wallet release.

Cookie window

How long a click is attributable

Default 30 days on most affiliate setups. Shorter windows favour brand, longer windows favour creator. Set in the campaign config.

CPA

Cost per Acquisition

Total campaign spend divided by orders attributed to it. Use against AOV and contribution margin to judge real profitability.

CPM

Cost per 1,000 impressions or reach

For EMV purposes Keepface uses $10 CPM as the canonical rate. Held constant so quarter-over-quarter comparisons are real, not redefined every cycle.

CPV

Cost per View

$0.03 in the Keepface EMV formula. Applies to video views on reels, in-feed TikTok, YouTube shorts.

D

Deliverables

What the creator commits to post

Format (reel, story, in-feed), count, platform, posting date and any required hashtags or links. Tight deliverables mean fewer renegotiations later.

E

EMV

Earned Media Value

The paid-media equivalent of organic reach + engagements + views. Same canonical USD rates across every Keepface campaign so a Q1 number compares to a Q4 number cleanly.

EPE

Equivalent Per Engagement

$0.50 in the Keepface EMV formula. Counts likes + comments + shares + saves.

ER

Engagement Rate

Engagements divided by reach, expressed as a percent. Industry benchmark is 1.5%, regional creator markets often run 3 to 5%.

Escrow

Brand funds held before posting

The campaign fee is moved into Keepface escrow before the creator posts. On approval the release runs to the creator wallet automatically.

L

Licence

Usage rights granted by the creator

Channels (ads, owned site, retail, OOH), term (3, 6, 12 months), exclusivity. Lives inside the brief the creator signs, so no separate contract is needed later.

M

Macro

Creator with 500K+ followers

Cultural-moment tier. High fee, broader reach but lower ER. Best paired with amplification budget.

Media kit

A creator's public profile page

Verified followers, engagement, audience demographics, best recent posts. One link the creator shares with brands.

Micro

Creator with 10K to 100K followers

Niche-depth tier. Strong engagement on a defined audience, lower fee per post. Workhorses of most balanced creator mixes.

Mid-tier

Creator with 100K to 500K followers

Broad-reach tier. Sits between micro and macro, both on fee and audience size.

MROI

Media Return on Investment

EMV divided by campaign spend. A 3.18× MROI means $1 of spend produced $3.18 of earned media. Regional benchmark is around 3.5×.

N

Nano

Creator with 1K to 10K followers

Trust + community tier. Highest ER, lowest fee, lots of authentic conversation. Often the unsung heroes of a balanced mix.

O

Outreach

Multi-channel creator contact

Email + WhatsApp + Instagram DM, sent in that order with a 36-hour gap. Reply rates land around 38% when run cleanly.

P

Postback

Server-to-server attribution event

Used when cookies cannot reliably attribute. The store posts a confirmed order to a Keepface endpoint with the click ID, attribution closes the loop.

R

Reach

Unique people exposed to a post

Distinct from impressions, which count repeat views. EMV multiplies reach by CPM/1000.

ROAS

Return on Ad Spend

Revenue divided by spend. Best used together with contribution margin so a 4× ROAS at 30% margin is read as 1.2× contribution.

S

Saved alerts

Notifications for new creators matching filters

A saved CRM filter that pings you whenever a new creator profile crosses the threshold. Use it for category, geography, language, audience country.

SCIM

Cross-domain identity provisioning

Used on the Enterprise plan to automate user lifecycle from your IdP. Joiners get a seat at first login, leavers lose access within the hour.

Sentiment

AI read of audience reaction

Comment sentiment, audio sentiment of the creator, share-vs-save ratio. Surface signals you would not see in the metric numbers alone.

SSO

Single Sign-On

SAML 2.0 against Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, Ping. On the Enterprise plan, with just-in-time seat provisioning.

U

UTM

URL tracking parameters

Campaign-source-medium-content-term tags appended to a URL so analytics can attribute traffic without server-side coordination.

W

Wallet

Creator earnings balance

Approved earnings accumulate here. Payouts batch monthly, or release on request, to Wise, IBAN or PayPal.
