VACATION SURVIVAL GUIDE ‼️ The goal for this trip was to try to minimize fat gain AMAP during the 2 weeks I was gone while still enjoying myself ???? I ended up actually coming back slightly leaner and hitting an all new weight low (that never happens to me on vacay) ???????? Here’s how ⬇️: 1️⃣ MOVE, MOVE, and oh MOVE ????‍♀️????‍♀️????‍♀️ during the course of my trip I made it a habit to walk everywhere I could, climb every single set of stairs I encountered , and hiked anywhere possible. I averaged over 20K steps and over 9 miles per day ???? but with all the beautiful sights to see in Europe, it was so easy ???? 2️⃣ Prioritize protein ???????? every meal I had I made sure to order a lean protein whether it’s be chicken breast, salmon, or a filet steak. Filling up on protein makes sure you get adequate protein intake to keep your gains ???? as well as to fill up on healthier food before you waste room on unhealthier options ???? 3️⃣ Eat til you are full (not until the plate is clean) For each meal I ate until I was full instead of finishing the plate and would either save leftovers or give them to someone to finish off. This prevents a ridiculous caloric surplus and makes sure you don’t feel like ???? for the rest of the day. 4️⃣ Get your metabolism ???? prior to the trip. I knew about this trip since last year so about 2 months prior to leaving @quirk_nutrition and I started slowly increasing my cals (and carbs) so that my body got used to eating a decent amount of food BEFORE leaving. If I had done this trip right after a contest prep the strategy would have been wayyy different! 5️⃣ Decrease stress. Vacation is all about decreasing stress so left any stressors I had at home and focused on enjoying the trip ???? the body performs better when cortisol levels are ⬇️ so it worked hand in hand with enjoying the trip and giving my body a nice little reset for when I got back. By following these tips I made sure I not only kept the progress I made over the past 10 months but also set myself a head! Was the execution perfect? By no means … BELIEVE me I enjoyed myself ???????? but by being mindful you can set yourself up for success instead of having to clean up the mess after! ????

This throwback popped up from 6 years ago - has it been long enough to post a shredded throwback ???? This was one week before turning pro when my sister @kellmalloryphotog graciously offered to take pictures around the city of Omaha while I was the leanest I’d ever been. I remember at the time all I could think about was being tired, hungry, and anxious for the show. Thinking back now - I’m more thankful for the memories as now I live over one thousand miles away from this city as well as all my siblings and friends back in Omaha. This was also a special time in my life - I had never been more motivated to achieve a goal and really put everything I had into turning pro. It was one of the most rewarding moments I have ever had, suffering so much but knowing that my conditioning made the difference between only bringing a medal home that day vs a pro card. So I’m really thankful for the opportunity I had to fully pour myself into that. I’m thankful to have these photos to bring back the memories I have from this time. Cherish the moments - even the difficult ones. Because one day you’ll look back and be thankful that you had them ❤️ #Nostalgic lol #throwback #flashback #flashbackfriday #ifbbpro #igfitness #omaha #tbt #bodybuilding
