Trading the dirt for the vine! ???????? After shredding the Flow Trail in Santa Cruz, we stumbled upon the most incredible spot to unwind: @regalewinery Regale Winery and Vineyards. It was the perfect post-ride recovery. We did the $35 tasting (which includes their amazing Estate wines), soaked up the scenic views, and even got competitive with a game of bocce ball. The grounds are absolutely stunning—definitely spotting why this is such a huge venue for weddings and events. If you’re riding in Santa Cruz, put this on your list for the cooldown! #SantaCruz #FlowTrail #RegaleWinery #PostRide #MTBLife WineryViews BocceBall SantaCruzMountains

Did you know you can hike straight into a winery in Saratoga? ???????? We set out for a hike at Fremont Older Open Space Preserve, starting on the Nob Hill trail. About 1.5 miles in, right at the bottom of a hill, we stumbled upon the back entrance to @coopergarrodvineyards Garrod Farms Estate Winery & Stables. We decided to take a "detour" and it was the best decision of the day! We walked past beautiful horses hanging out in the stables and grabbed a table (no reservation needed!) to enjoy some live music by the talented Eden Edell @edenedellmusic She has this amazing indie folk/jazz style that was just ethereal and playful—the perfect soundtrack for a sunny afternoon. On the menu: We tried the Vegetarian Small Bites Sampler featuring Raincoast crisp crackers, fig & honey goat cheese, Marcona almonds, and fig jam. We paired it with their Thanksgiving Flight to get ready for the holidays: ???? 2024 Chardonnay: Pairs with cheese boards & pumpkin pie. ???? 2022 Pinot Noir: Pairs with turkey & stuffing. ???? 2020 Cabernet Franc: Pairs with cranberry sauce & roasted roots. ✈️ 2019 F86 Sabre Jet: A bold red that pairs with filet & chocolate pie. Fueled by cheese and wine, we got a second wind and finished the hike up to Maisie’s Peak! ????️ The views of the valley, the vineyards, and the Saratoga Country Club were incredible. We clocked in 4.5 miles total—the perfect balance of fitness and indulgence. Our recent visit to Cesar Toxqui Cellars in Ukiah Ca, was more than just a wine tasting; it was an experience that touched the heart. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a sense of warmth and genuine hospitality. The tasting room, located in Redwood Valley, CA, exudes a rustic charm, reflecting Cesar’s journey from working in the vineyards to realizing his dream of owning a winery. Cesar’s passion for winemaking is evident in every bottle. He crafts small lots of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, and Heirloom blends, sourcing grapes from Mendocino County, Lake County, and Sonoma County. Each wine tells a story, reflecting the terroir and Cesar’s dedication to his craft. What truly sets Cesar Toxqui Cellars apart is the personal touch. You might find Cesar himself sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm, making you feel like a welcomed guest in his home. And if you’re lucky, you’ll be greeted by Sparky, Cesar’s loyal companion. Sparky adds an extra layer of warmth to the already inviting atmosphere, embodying the family-friendly spirit of the winery. The wines themselves are exceptional. During our tasting, we were impressed by the: * 2019 Zinfandel: The Barrel Select has oak flavor with hints of cherry, full bodied. * Heirloom Ocho: Elegant and beautifully structured, with delicate red fruit aromas. * 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon: Rich and complex, with dark fruit flavors and notes of cedar and vanilla. Cesar’s wines are a testament to his skill and artistry, showcasing the best of Mendocino County’s terroir. Cesar Toxqui Cellars is more than just a winery; it’s a family affair. With the support of his wife Ruth, and often with his children, Paloma and Hugh Oliver, involved, Cesar has created a place where wine lovers can feel at home. The dedication to quality, the passion for winemaking, and the welcoming presence of Cesar and Sparky make this winery a must-visit. If you’re looking for an authentic and memorable wine tasting experience, look no further than Cesar Toxqui Cellars.
