As a journalist, I can come up with a lot of words on a dime, but I’m finding it hard to express just how grateful I am for the outpouring of support I’ve received from you the last few months. This, as I battled some serious health issues, lost one of my best friends and watched someone I love fight to stay alive. I’ve always worn my heart on my sleeve and have been honest with you all, because you truly feel like family and are a big part of my support system. With that said, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the thousands of encouraging messages, emails, comments, cards, letters and the food, flowers and visits. I am overjoyed to be back on the anchor desk at @fox2detroit! I love what I do more than anything (except my daughter, dogs and GOD) ????. I ask that you please bear with me as acclimate to the studio lights and talking to more than the aforementioned for 3 hours straight each morning along with my other duties. NGL, it has been a bit difficult as some of the main symptoms I experience are extreme dizziness, balance issues, brain fog and blurred vision. I’m trying to get used to dealing with these new challenges and rise above them. Right now, I’m also working to get back to each and every one of you who reached out. It’s a bit overwhelming so be patient with me. Love you all so much and please know I’m turning off the comments because I can’t keep up! ????????????????????

Hello beautiful friends! Big shoutout to my friends taking amazing care of me at the Michigan Institute for Neurological Disorders. Dr. Doty and Ms. Sheri are so kind and dedicated to their patients. I promised an update but don’t have much to report other than I’m hoping to be back late next week. Thank you for the continued love, support and prayers. Miss every one of you soooo much.

My neurologist was able to rule out what would’ve been a devastating diagnosis! ???? However, that means I move on to different specialists and different tests until we figure this out. Still planning on being back very soon. I miss you all so much… along with my @fox2detroit Family!

On Saturday, I watched one of my best friends, Jackie Dixon, take her last breath, surrounded by family and friends. It can’t be real. 25 years of triumphs… graduating from college together, crazy nights bartending in Pontiac, weddings, tragedies, birthdays, divorce, dream cruises, charity events, Tigers games, New Orleans, and so much more. She was my Gracie’s beloved Aunt Jackie. She was brilliant, a beauty for the ages, an amazing chef, devoted wife, hard worker, loyal friend, proud dog momma and a philanthropist… supporting many local charities including her very favorite @catchcharity. She was a therapist to her friends and family, she was grace, elegance, charm and sass all rolled into one. I’m completely gutted for her incredible husband, Eric and her entire family. I know you hear the cliches all the time but PLEASE take them to heart. You always think you’ll see someone again but the reality is… you have no idea. Tell the people you cherish how much you love them, forget silly arguments and the passage of time… let them know your life won’t ever be the same without them in it.
