Is October the best time to visit?????️???????? You definitely know the pictures with the wooden boathouse, rowing boats in emerald-green water and surrounded by majestic mountains.. And let me tell you.. it’s just as breathtaking in real-life! I visited in both summer and autumn and I must admit, I 100% prefer autumn: stunning colors, lower crowds and the crisp air make the experience much more enjoyable. ???? SAVE & SHARE ???? for the most beautiful autumn colors, visit in mid to late-October. I was there on October 20th, 2024. How to get here: ???? car: there are 3 parking lots, P4 is the closest one to the lake, however I would recommend parking in P3 to avoid the crowds. ???? bus: from Dobbiaco/Toblach, take shuttle bus no. 442 for a 30-minute trip What to do: ???????? rent a boat (€50 for 45 minutes might seem quite pricey, but I personally think it was worth it) ???? stroll around the lake: it’s an easy hike with many photo opportunities  ???? Top tips ???????? ???????? Lago di Braies (Italian) and Pragser Wildsee (German) are the same place, so don’t get confused by the name  ????there’s no entry fee to the lake, only parking is paid  ???? swimming not allowed Visit Dolomites • Italy nature • Dolomites outdoor • best of Dolomites • Dolomites tourism • must visit see in Dolomites • beautiful destinations in Dolomites #lagodibraies #lagodibraiesofficial #visitsüdtirol #dolomitesunesco #dolomiten #fallvibes #autumnvibes #foliage #larches #italiandolomites #southtyrolian ???? not my usual post… ✨ People often ask me why I travel so much and why I dedicate such a big part of my budget to it.. Some see traveling only as a vacation, a short break from routine. For me, it has never been just that. ✨ Travel has shaped me in ways I never expected. It made me more curious, more patient, more open to different ways of living. It reminded me how big and beautiful the world is and how small my own bubble can be if I never step outside of it. ???? I travel to feel: wonder in the unfamiliar, excitement in the unknown and a quiet gratitude that stays with me long after. ????
I travel to collect little everyday moments: the sound of a language I don’t understand, the taste of something I’ve never tried before, the kindness of a stranger, the awe of standing in a place so enormous it puts everything in perspective. ????
I travel to remind myself that there isn’t just one way of living, one definition of home or one version of happiness. ????
I travel because I love the feeling of being both lost and found at the same time. Sometimes it feels like I’m collecting pieces of myself in every place I go, a little perspective here, a little courage there. ???? And honestly, I don’t want to look back one day, when I’m 80 and regret not chasing the things that made me feel most alive. I’d rather have a heart full of memories than a wallet full of ‘what ifs’. ???? And that’s why I travel ????✈️ ????What about you? Why do you travel? Drop it in the comments, I’d love to read your thoughts ????

✍️ Comment 'TULIP' and I’ll send you my FREE Netherlands map, showing all these stops + parking!????????????️✨ ???? SAVE & SHARE #1 Amsterdam ????????
We kicked things off in the capital, wandering canals, dodging bikes and soaking up all the art and history. It’s the perfect place to get into Dutch vibes. #2 Zaandam ????️????
Just outside Amsterdam, this place surprised me with its colorful, stacked houses. Honestly, it felt like walking through a giant Lego village. #3 Zaanse Schans ????️????
Classic Dutch postcard vibes: windmills turning, wooden houses, even clogs being made. Yes, a bit touristy, but absolutely worth it. #4 Alkmaar ????????
If you love cheese (who doesn’t?), this is the spot. The traditional cheese market is fun, but the cobblestone streets and canals stole my heart too. #5 Edam ????✨
Tiny, peaceful and home to the famous Edam cheese. We strolled along canals lined with old warehouses and it felt like time slowed down. #6 Volendam ????????
A lively fishing village where we tried fresh seafood by the harbor. Colorful houses, boats and such a cozy, relaxing vibe. #7 Marken ????????
Once an island, now connected by a causeway, Marken feels tucked away from the world. Cute green houses, quiet streets and a little lighthouse at the edge. #8 Giethoorn ????????
Honestly, this place doesn’t feel real. No cars, just boats gliding through canals, thatched-roof cottages and endless photo stops. #9 Castle de Haar ????????
Straight out of a fairytale. Towers, gardens and the kind of place that makes you want to spin around like you’re in a Disney movie. #10 Gouda ????????️
We came for the cheese, but Gouda’s charm completely won us over. The town square is beautiful and full of life. #11 Delft ????????
Blue-and-white pottery, peaceful canals and Vermeer’s hometown. Smaller and calmer than Amsterdam, but with just as much charm.
